Release Date: 31 October 2023
Version: 7.1.0.279
This software returns the Power Save feature to Halo20+ & Halo24 Radars and has a number of bug fixes and adds a stall detection feature.
Bug Fixes
This software fixes the following issues.
Radar showing various instances of “Radar error” messages.
Occasional loss of radar image with the message “No spoke data.”
IP address issue when a DHCP server is on the network.
Occasional dropout to standby in Power Save mode.
Other minor bug fixes associated with different versions of hardware across the Halo radar range.
Antenna motor stall detection
Occasionally in heavy seas, the antenna motor could stall. There is now a stall detection and recovery feature incorporated which monitors the antenna rotation speed and supplies increased torque when stalling is detected.
Power Save Mode
Power Save mode was previously disabled for some software versions in the field. It is now re-enabled.
Power save allows the user to set the radar to automatically transmit a pre-determined number of scans, before returning to standby as shown in the above image. If a target enters a pre-set zone during this time an alarm will be raised.
Upgrade Procedure
Insert the card into the micro SD slot on a compatible MFD and ensure that power is supplied to the radar.
From the home page on the MFD, select “Storage”. Choose the micros SD card, and select the file, then select “Upgrade”
The REMOTE UPGRADE page should come up. Select the relevant radar, then select “Start Upgrade”
The upgrade should start and automatically install. Once the upgrade is complete you will see the message on screen “Upgrade Complete”.
Select OK and exit back to the main screen. The upgrade is complete. You can check the version under Settings > Radar > Installation > Radar Status > Scanner Info. It should state Type as Halo2x and software version 7.1.0.182.
This completes the process.
Alternatively, if the MFD is connected to the internet, you can download the software update.
Under Halo2x select “Download” then follow the prompts on screen to update.
